CareersOnWeb offers a unique mechanism through which you, as a job seeker, can quickly and easily identify and take advantage of potential employment opportunities. Please note that all services available to job seekers are offered absolutely FREE. Furthermore, we would like to underline the fact that a great deal of care has been taken to provide you with a truly effective application, which offers all the features you would require (e.g. creating your resume, job search, jobs basket, recruiter information and more), while at the same time, maintaining tight security, integrity of your information and even your anonymity. The following help topics have been compiled to assist you in using CareersOnWeb during your current search for employment. We kindly ask that you read this information carefully. This will enable you to use CareersOnWeb correctly and thus better help us, help you!

Creating a new Job Seeker account is an easy one step process. It is recommended that before you click on the Create Account button, you write down and remember your chosen user name and password, since you will need it the next time you Login. Upon successfully creating your new account, you are ready to enter your Account Profile and Resume information. In the event that you have forgotten your login information, this feature will assist you by automatically forwarding your valid user name and password directly to your email address (as you have defined it in your Account Profile). It is important that you fill in your account profile information as accurately as possible. To assist you in doing so, the account profile has been divided into 2 major sections:
Part 1: Personal Information This section allows you to enter you personal and contact details. Please take care in entering your correct email address, for communication purposes. It is here that you can address the issue of confidentiality. By choosing this option, your personal information will be locked. This means that your personal information (from your name up to and including your email address) will not be accessible to recruiters. Anonymous accounts are referred to by and Identification Code, which is assigned automatically by the system when the account is first created. If you have chosen to be anonymous, recruiters will be able to communicate with you only via the CareersOnWeb internal messaging system. You too can use this messaging system to communicate directly with recruiters. In both cases, these recruiters will know you only by your Identification Code (e.g. JS11536884).
Note: It is essential that you enter your email account for communication purposes. If you do not already have your own email, then you obtain one from a number of free email services available on the internet. Three such services are:
Part 2: Classification Enter the classification information that best describes your field of expertise and employment terms. It is based on this information that recruiters will initially search for job seekers.
Profile: Use this space to enter a brief profile of yourself (no more that 2-3 short sentences). You will have the opportunity to enter a more detailed description of your objectives, skills and experience in the Resume section.
Keywords: Enter keywords and phrases that best define your skills in your related industry. Each keyword/phrase should be separated with a comma (i.e. keyword1, keyword2, etc.) For instance, a job seeker in the "Computers / Software" industry may enter keywords such as "Visual Basic, C++, Java, Lotus Notes".
Availability: Enter the earliest starting date from which you would be available to start work. By default this date is the date you created your account. However, a student graduating in July of next year would enter his/her date of graduation.
Notice: If you are currently in other employment, and your current employer would require a minimum period of notice (e.g. 15 days or 30 days) before you depart to a new job, then use this space the specify the desired period of notice needed.
Potential Work Locations: Use this space if you are willing to work in a town or country other than that already specified in you personal information. For example, you could enter "Cyprus (Nicosia, Limassol), UK (London), USA (California, Florida, New York)"
Desired Salary: Use this feature to define a minimum acceptable salary with which you would be satisfied. You may specify this amount in the following currencies:
Use this section to enter your latest resume information, that would be of most interest to potential recruiters. When entering your academic qualifications and experience, you should always start with the most recent and work backwards. Important: Note for anonymous users The entire resume is displayed to recruiters. If you are an anonymous user you should be careful not to disclose company names that may finger point you. To avoid this you may use a company description instead such as "Reputable Software Company" or "Large & Respected Accounting Firm" etc. You are strongly encouraged to fill in this section as it is considered very important to recruiters. The job search feature allows you to search and retrieving jobs currently store in the CareersOnWeb jobs database. It is recommended that you fill in as many of the criteria fields as possible, in order to identify the jobs most relevant to your needs
Job Category: For ease of use, this criteria field is set to the category which you have already specified in your Account Profile.
Job Title: Enter a word, phrase or partial word/phrase as a search criterion. The system will retrieve all jobs where the information you entered is found somewhere in the job title field.
Keywords: Enter one or more keywords. Each keyword can be a single word or phrase. The keywords should be separated by a comma(,). For instance a possible entry could be "Visual Basic, Java, Internet". Upon performing a Job Search, the resulting jobs will be retrieved and listed. For each job in the list you are able to view the title together with a brief description. Use this view to freely browser through the jobs. To view further information about a specific job simply click on the job title or the view icon located on the bottom-right hand corner of that jobs listing. This will take you to the corresponding Job Card. You can also add a job directly to your Basket by clicking on the Add to Basket icon. The job card presents all available information on a specific job. The icons in the top-left hand corner allow you to add the job to your basket and send a message to the corresponding recruiter, respectively. Click on the recruiters name to view further information on that specific recruiter. Alternatively you can use the contact information presented, to get in touch with the person within the company (recruiter) who is responsible for this specific job opening. Your basket is your private area for storing jobs that you wish to pursue. We recommend that you perform your searches and assign potentially interesting job positions to your basket. You can subsequently use your basket to manage your communication with the respective recruiters filtering out the job openings that are no longer of interest and concentrating on pursuing the jobs that truly appeal to your needs. Your basket is linked directly to the CareersOnWeb messaging system to facilitate you in quickly and easily establishing communication with prospective employers. Note: If a job opening has been filled or is removed from the system, then it is automatically removed from your basket, thus ensuring the integrity of your basket at all times. The recruiter search feature allows you to search and retrieving recruiters currently store in the CareersOnWeb jobs database. A good use for this feature is to identify companies based on a specific location, who are currently looking to employ people in your specific industry. After performing such a search, you will be presented with a list of recruiters. Click on a recruiters name to view the corresponding Recruiter Card. Each recruiter card presents detailed information about a specific recruiter. Along with basic contact information, a brief profile is presented for your consideration. If the recruiter has a corporate web site, then the corresponding link is also presented, thus allowing you to further investigate the specific recruiter. All the jobs openings currently available, are also presented. Click on a job to view the corresponding Job Card.

Opening an account with CareersOnWeb will allow you, as a recruiter, to search through the CareersOnWeb job seeker database for prospective candidates. To make a request for a new recruiter account, simply fill in and submit the new account form. The CareersOnWeb staff will contact you with the next working day, after which your account will be activated. You will have the opportunity at this point to request for job licenses (which will allow you to post job openings to the CareersOnWeb jobs database. Use this feature to enter or update your company information. This information is accessible to job seekers wishing to find out information or contact your organization regarding a specific job opening. It is recommended that you carefully fill in as much information as possible. Use the profile field to enter a brief description of your company, placing particular emphasis on your field of expertise and business operations. As a registered recruiter, you are able to apply for job licenses, that would allow you to post job openings to the CareersOnWeb jobs database To request such job licenses, simply fill in and submit the corresponding form. The CareersOnWeb staff will contact your shortly for administrative and verification purposes, prior to activating your new job licences. Upon obtaining job licenses (for posting jobs to the CareersOnWeb database), you are able to add, edit and delete each job individually.
Job Title: Enter a brief yet descriptive title for the job being posted. This field can be search by job seekers.
Description: Use this space to enter an adequate description of the job being posted. This field can be searched by job seekers, so take care to include words and phrases that would facilitate potential candidates in their search. For example, the following description presents many keywords that would facilitate the desirable candidates in their search. These keywords have been underlined for your convenience.
Contact Person: Although each job is links directly to the recruiter (i.e. your company), you have the added flexibility to assign specific contact persons for each individual job. Your basket is your private area for storing job seekers that are of interest. We recommend that you perform your searches and assign potentially interesting candidates to your basket(s). You can subsequently use your basket(s) to manage your communication with the respective candidates filtering out the ones that are no longer of interest and concentrating on pursuing the candidates that truly qualify, based on your job requirements. By default, you have a General Basket at your disposal. If you have active job licenses, and thus multiple baskets (one for each job), you also have the ability to reassign job seekers to one or more of these baskets. Your basket(s) are linked directly to the CareersOnWeb messaging system to facilitate you in quickly and easily establishing communication with prospective candidates. Note: If a job seeker is removed from the system, then the corresponding entry is automatically removed from your basket(s), thus ensuring the integrity of your basket(s) at all times. The job seeker search feature allows you to search and retrieving potential candidates currently store in the CareersOnWeb job seeker database. It is recommended that you fill in as many of the criteria fields as possible, in order to identify the individuals most relevant to your needs.
Job Category: Enter the category in which you would like to search. (Each job seeker currently in the system has specified the category most relevant to his/her career objectives).
Career Level: Specify the experience level of the candidates that would be most suitable for the job position currently available.
Keywords: Enter one or more keywords. Each keyword can be a single word or phrase. The keywords should be separated by a comma(,). For instance a possible entry could be "Visual Basic, Java, Internet". (Note that job seekers have already specified keywords that identify their major skills and abilities in order to facilitate you in your search). Upon performing a Search, the resulting job seekers will be retrieved and listed. For each individual in the list you are able to view the name (or identification code if the seeker wishes to remain anonymous) together with a brief profile. Use this view to freely browser through the job seekers. To view further information about a specific individual simply click on the Name (/ ID code) or the view icon located on the bottom-right hand corner of that entry in the list. This will take you to the corresponding Job Seeker Card. You can also add a job seeker directly to your Basket by clicking on the Add to Basket icon. (Note: Job Seekers are, by default, assigned to your General basket. Recruiters who have licenses to post jobs, also have the ability to assign job seekers to multiple baskets.) Each job seeker has his/her own card containing Personal, Classification and Resume information. Note that if a job seeker has expressed a desire to remain anonymous, then his/her Personal information is "locked" and cannot be viewed. Instead, you will be presented with the job seeker Identification Code, which is your only reference for identifying this individual. You can communicate with any job seeker (confidential or not) via the CareersOnWeb internal messaging system. Job Seekers too can communicate directly with you using this messaging system. In both cases, the anonymous job seekers are reference only by their Identification Code (e.g. JS11536884).
